Blueberry Matcha Syrup

Blueberry Matcha Syrup

Simple syrup is a staple sweetener that finds many uses in the kitchen. Use it to sweeten hot drinks or cocktails, moisten cakes, or dress up a basic fruit salad. This one, made with matcha tea, adds wonderful earthy flavor to cocktails and smoothies.

Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp. blueberry matcha tea powder
  • 1 cup sugar

Directions

1. Whisk the matcha powder in 1 cup hot water. Steep 5 minutes, then strain into a small saucepan.

2. Add the sugar. Bring the mixture to a simmer and stir to dissolve the sugar. Remove from the heat and transfer to a glass jar or bottle. Refrigerate for up to 1 month.
